Be brave - climb the 307 steps to the top of the north tower of Amiens cathedral ... then you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic views over the town and surrounding countryside.
Built in the 13th century to plans drawn up by Robert de Luzarches, on the initiative of Bishop Evrard de Fouilloy, the cathedral of Notre-Dame d'Amiens is the largest Gothic building in France. Access to the towers affords a wonderful view of the spire (112.7 metres high) and city of Amiens. Opening times (closed Tuesdays and Sunday mornings):
April, May, June. September (guided tours at 3pm & 4.30pm, except Saturday & Sunday, unguided tours from 2.30pm to 5.15pm),
July, August (guided tour 11am, unguided tours from 2.30pm to 5.15pm),
October to March (guided tour 3.45pm).
NB maximum of 18 people in guided tour to top of north tower.
