Marais des Cavins
Outstanding natural site along the Somme valley (going towards the Baie). A maze of peat marshes and pools (one of the largest in the valley), linked by little footbridges which give the impression that you're walking ion water. Good 3km walk - easy - picnic tables.
The Marais des Cavins is situated in the middle valley of the Somme, in the heart of the flood channel of the River. The natural site is in an area of outstanding ecological and landscape interest. It is marked by a superb blend of landscapes and opportunities for eco-tourism with the marais du Château (marsh) and the larris of Hangest-sur-Somme that overlooks it. The drive to enhance the site therefore takes into account the choice to create loop walks enabling nature lovers to discover the contrasting areas. First and foremost, the network of sites secures the conservation of protected species typically found in marshes and man-made lakes. This enables them to spread from 1 site to another
