Historial de la Grande Guerre - Thiepval
You'll like : Designed to receive and inform visitors wishing to find out more about the Battle of the Somme and the Great War by means of a permanent exhibition in three languages.
This centre opened its doors in Thiepval on July 1st 2004 thanks to its efforts between "the Regional Council of the Somme" and "the Thiepval Project" (which raised a national subscription in Great Britain in the aim to gather funds) with the support of the European Union.
In addition to different services (information centre, shop, showing rooms, drink distributors, sanitary facilities), a vast exhibition space is offered to teach visitors the necessary keys to understanding of the Somme battle, Thiepval history during the WW1. Other boards are devoted to CWGC, Lutyens, reconstruction, remembering duty.

Before heading to the Thiepval Memorial, you must visit the visitor centre and new museum, which opened in 2016 and provides the keys to understanding the Battle of the Somme in an original and immersive way. In the museum lobby, learn more about the CWGC and the work it carries out caring for the battlefield memorials and cemeteries. Guided tours of the Thiepval Memorial are also available.
