Citadelle d'Amiens

After the Spanish took the town in 1597, Amiens Fortress was built by Henri IV to reinforce the northern border of the kingdom. Despite its historic, architectural and landscape appeal, the fortress, built on a former Roman route and the ruins of Middle Age and Renaissance fortifications, remains largely unknown by the general public. Take the opportunity, at the start of this project to build a university, to discover this site undergoing a genuine facelift, situated between the north of the city and the centre of the Picardy capital.
