Waiting to be discovered : The 'belvédère' (panoramic viewpoint) at Hangest-sur-Somme affords superb views over the valley and its wide-open, leafy spaces.
On the Hangest and Bourdon 'belvédère' (panoramic viewpoint) you can see 'larris' (limestone uplands) and 'rideaux' (banks). Try to make out the course of the old river Somme and canal in the valley. You can also see how the landscape has been shaped by history. The panoramic views take in the imposing Hangest 'larris' (the largest in the Somme department), traditional hunting huts and the stone bell tower of the church at Bourdon. Access on outskirts of Hangest-sur-Somme, lay-by on D3 road.
