Belvédère de l'Anguillère
Waiting to be discovered : The eel pool at Eclusier-Vaux has been restored and today is used for scientific monitoring of these fish which come such a long way to reach the lakes of the Upper Somme.
In lakes beside the river Somme live fish with an unusual life cycle: eels. They have to come a very long way to get here. For many years Somme fishermen caught and sold eels. Today eel fishing is very strictly regulated. The eel pool at Eclusier-Vaux has been restored in memory of the eel fishing tradition but also to help with scientific study of eels by capturing them "the old-fashioned" way!
