Compagnie pEtites perceptiOns
Icare la tête ailleurs is a project involving object theater and visual and sound scenography. The process of creating the show was based on the search for a language, a dialogue between the words of a custom-written text and the images and sound objects animated in a choreography of millimetric space. The text is based on the myth of Icarus: trapped in a labyrinth, Icarus and his father Daedalus, the architect, make wings and escape by air. But Icarus, intoxicated by flight and ignoring his father's warnings, burns his wings as he approaches the sun, falls into the sea and drowns. In Icarus with his head elsewhere, the young protagonist examines the difficulties of being with others, wanders lost in the labyrinth of his head where conversations with Daedalus resound, and dreams of a flight that would take him away from the gloom of the present and bring him closer to the bright light of the sun. Through references to the myth, the show speaks of Fear and Isolation, with Daedalus embodying the conscience of today's youth, Icarus. It's also about the emancipation of youth, through a multitude of metaphors. As usual, Katerini Antonakaki takes us into a visual universe charged with poetry in motion, while addressing open-ended questions to the intimate mythology of each spectator.
