Lucas Debargue burst onto the international scene after setting the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow on fire, where he won the Special Music Critics' Prize in 2015. A child of the Hauts-de-France region, he cut his teeth at the Conservatoires de Compiègne and Beauvais before joining the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. His latest recording, a complete set of Fauré?s solo piano pieces, is a major event. In Amiens, he will perform a number of pages, as well as pieces by Chopin and Beethoven, who so inspired the French composer, who died a hundred years ago.
Lucas Debargue illuminates each of Fauré's works and manages to make us hear all their modernity
