About
Alexis Forestier & André Robillard
Compagnie les endimanchés
In partnership with La Briqueterie as part of the H2O festival, L'Homme aux deux oreilles festival
Art has undoubtedly succeeded in killing misery and changing lives. First André Robillard: the artist, discovered by Jean Dubuffet, spent most of his life in a psychiatric institution. But also that of Alexis Forestier, who combined his instrumental and theatrical skills with a world of visual art to create his works. For 60 years, André Robillard has been assembling old pipes, strings, cartridges, boxes, light bulbs, electric tubes, fabrics and plastics, using nails, tape and wire to create guns, sputniks and fantastical animals. Armed with felt-tip pens, colored pencils and his imagination, he also draws. "Tuer la misère" is the name of a collection produced by André and Alexis, sometimes with four hands, and created through their collaboration. Part of this collection will form the scenography for Contre-Attaque. By inviting André Robillard to join his company Les Endimanchés, Alexis Forestier also invited him to combine popular culture, a rereading of the avant-garde, the appeal of strange writing and, of course, sound and musical experimentation. As for the Cratères lunaires, dear to André's imagination, often built around planets and spacecraft, they undoubtedly still mark the meeting of their two worlds.
