Acheulean, which is a mythical word here, is the main and oldest paleontological facies of Europe, and it was on the terrace of Saint-Acheul that a number of bifacial tools were found that can today be seen in the Musée de Picardie.
Working with stone and metals is a subject at the prehistoric park of Samara, a few kilometres from Amiens.

Discover Samara, the prehistoric park in the Somme valley.
Guided tour of the exhibition “scenes of prehistory”: a chronological trail of thirteen paintings representing 600,000 years of the history of mankind, followed by a demonstration of craftwork and the discovery of reconstituted dwellings.
