NEW IN 2010 : The Somme Valley CPIE offers you their “It’s your choice!” package, made up of discovery activities in the Frémontiers Woods followed by a workshop.
Morning
9.45am : Rendezvous with your CPIE nature guide (Centre Permanent d’Initiatives pour l’Environnement) at the Frémontiers chalet.
10.00am : Discovery of the forest ecosystem: During a walk through the woods, all fi ve senses are put to good use in getting to know the forest milieu.
Duration: 2 hours

Picnic in the woods.
Afternoon: Your choice of workshop
- Tracks and trails, the forest’s hidden animals : Set off in search of signs left by wild animals. Whatever kind of animal left these tracks? What dug this burrow? What ate this fruit? (Indoors and outdoors).
OR
- Leaf herbarium : using leaves gathered in the forest, you will learn how to determine species and create your own herbarium. (Mostly outdoors).
On offer throughout the year except in winter.
OR
- Little creatures of the undergrowth : discover the fauna that populate the edge of the woods, classify them, and create identity sheets for each animal.
