From Notre-Dame d’Amiens, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to the Somme Bay, regarded as one of the most beautiful bays anywhere in the world, the Somme region’s many treasures await your discovery.

1st day: Amiens

  • 10.15am - Your accompanying guide welcomes you at the Amiens Métropole Tourist Offi ce
  • 10.30am – Guided tour of Amiens Cathedral (1½ hours)
  • 12.15pm – Lunch in a local restaurant.
  • 2.45pm – Boat trip along the Saint-Leu canals. One boat per 10 people maximum (35 minutes). If desired, this visit may be replaced by a commentated trip to the Hortillonnages. (€0.50/person supplement)
  • 3.30pm – Historical walk through the city. One guide-lecturer per 30 people maximum (2 hours)
    or
    Commentated coach tour of the city. One guide-lecturer per coach (1¼ hours)
  • 5.30pm – End of your day in Amiens. Dinner and night at a 2-star hotel in Amiens or Abbeville, depending on availability

 

2nd day: the Somme bay

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • 10.15am – Rendezvous at Crotoy railway station
  • 10.30am – Rail excursion from the Somme Bay to Saint Valery-sur-Somme. You will travel by steam train in Belle-Époque carriages, with dazzling views of the scenery provided by one of the world’s most beautiful bays
  • 12.30pm - Lunch at Saint-Firmin-les-Crotoy
  • 3.00pm – Commentated visit to the Marquenterre ornithological park in the heart of the Somme Bay nature reserve. A fascinating peek into the world of birds in a protected area set among dunes, forest, and marshland
  • 5.00pm – End of stay

Our price includes:
Guided tours, admission fees, the three meals including drinks, accommodation in a double room and breakfast at a 2-star hotel, and accompaniment during the 1st day.
Our price does not include:
Group transport, insurance, accompaniment during the 2nd day, single-room supplement, tourist tax, or visit to the Hortillonages (+ €0.50/person).
Free for: driver and group leader in twin room.

This programme is on offer daily from 1 April to 31 October, depending on sailing conditions and religious services at the cathedral.
