The inhabitants of Val de Noye have been getting together for over 20 years to put on a show that relates their heritage and history. The “souffle de la terre” night-time show in Ailly sur Noye recounts the life of the people of Picardy since the times of Gaul through to the Second World War. 2,000 years of Picardy history in a magnificent setting with 600 actors, 35 horse-riders, water and light shows and fireworks. Blood and tears mix with laughter and hope; a captivating saga where simple everyday life merges with heroic war actions.
The festival of “Les Médiévales de Folleville” takes you back in time. This a medieval festival invites you to take part in life in the Middle Ages, with craftspeople and traders, medieval troops, horse jousting, street entertainment and medieval food. Everybody, of all ages, will be in admiration of the baker, the horse-riders and their horses, the craftspeople, the dancers and musicians, the men in arms, etc. The promise of an unforgettable day.
Meeting the beautiful and surprising natureThe Val de Noye is a delight for nature lovers, people who like to take it easy or the more energetic sports fans. Hiking: Explore the Val de Noye’s plateaus, valleys, plains and woods on foot (way marked and signposted circuits) or mountain bike (circuits certified by the French mountain bike federation).
Using one of the 14 footpath trails or one of the 4 mountain bike trails, wander across the countryside and explore the wealth of monuments. Admire the Saint-Aubin chapel, nestled in the greenery; enjoy the view from the Faloise belvedere, be charmed by the legend of Saint-Ulphe, watch deer in the woods, etc.
Fishing: Val de Noye also has a multitude of water pools, ponds and rivers. It’s a paradise for anyone who likes to fish.

Every stone has a story to tell. The Folleville church and castle: On the hill are the vestiges of the Folleville motte-and-bailey castle, witness to former wealth. The church is a fine example of flamboyant Gothic style, with Renaissance elements such as the splendid tomb of Raoul de Lannoy, lord of the site. This church, a listed UNESCO heritage site on the Compostela pilgrim route is also the birthplace of the mission of Saint Vincent de Paul.
