Have a great summer in Amiens!

Cultural, recreational and sporting activities all make for a great holiday in Amiens Métropole: enjoy days out with the family in Parc Saint-Pierre, relax in the Place Gambetta, enjoy yourselves in the Parc du Grand Marais and sample other activities in the local districts and communes in July and August.

The programme has been expanded yet again this year, keeping the same aim as in previous years: to offer Amiénois the opportunity to enjoy a real holiday right here in their city and to make the most of free activities.

And there's something for everyone:

A holiday feel at Parc Saint-Pierre

The park, with its lush greenery, is the location for most of the leisure, aquatic and nautical activities with pedalling and canoeing activities, pony rides, mini-golf, an adventure course and the unmissable Aqualudique Centre, dedicated to water games. And to prevent the smaller ones (ages 0 to 3 years) from being crowded out, a new space is entirely dedicated to them near the sandpit, with a giant mist generator so that they can enjoy the coolness of the water too.

On the adventurous side, sensation seekers are served too: a "climbing tower" (8 metres high) that allows children over 7 years old to be propelled through a vacuum tube onto an inflatable mattress. Among the other innovations this season: the installation of two bowling greens, a ping-pong table and a bar-restaurant area (extensive menus such as platters, salads, etc.). Laid out tavern-style with tables, chairs and deckchairs where parents can keep an eye on their children.

Relaxation and games for the little ones at Place Gambetta

The lawn plays host to the "zen and relaxation" area with its sun loungers! Among the novelties in this area dedicated to idleness: the giant games (mikado, dice, etc.) installed near the water fountain, with its floating yellow ducks. The perfect opportunity for children to indulge in a spot of duck fishing (fishing rods available free from the reception chalet).

Every day, the city's clubs and societies take it in turn to present their activities and offer demonstrations and entertainment to visitors (table tennis, circus skills, country pursuits, puppets, etc.). A bowling alley is also located just next to the information point on the pedestrian path through the square.

Sports at the Parc du Grand Marais

For young sports enthusiasts, the Parc du Grand Marais in Longpré-les-Amiens is where it all happens with, daily until 31 August, free activities supervised by Sports d'Amiens Métropole coaches.

10/14-year-olds have an appointment every morning, from 10:00 to 12:00, to take part in canoeing (swimming certificate required, and they must provide appropriate clothing and a spare outfit), climbing (at the Hotoie Gymnasium) and even roller sports.

For those over 16, a Nordic walking activity is offered from 9:30 to 12:00 on some days, depending on the level (beginner to experienced).

Afternoons, from 14:00 to 17:00, are dedicated to sports practice with prior registration (free) at the reception chalet. Participants can try three activities per one-hour slot: climbing, canoeing, archery, golf, orienteering, beach volleyball, handball, rugby, drone flying (depending on the weather) and petanque.

In the Parc du Grand Marais: come in sportswear and trainers, the equipment is provided.

And also... concerts, dances and festivals all summer long

A series of "concerts on the terraces" and walks will also be offered from 20 July to 30 August in the city centre, before the Le Global Ball (free) on August 25, at 8:30 pm, at Parc Saint-Pierre with La Compagnie du Tire-Laine.
