Museums Night in Amiens is fast approaching !

Once again this year, come and visit on 19 May 2018, and explore the city's cultural sites immersed in the world of the night as they tell their surprising stories.

Held each year, European Museums Night is an exceptional opportunity to discover the city's museum heritage in an unusual way.

All night long, each cultural venue and event partner offers an original staging of key exhibitions, free and accessible to all.


Le Musée de Picardie - The Picardy Museum


To mark the occasion, the Musée de Picardie will walk you through the streets of the city. From the city centre to Le Safran via the St-Leu district, discover unknown works from the museum in the heart of the city in the company of actors, musicians, art history students and secondary school students!

La Maison Jules Verne - The Jules Verne House

To celebrate the occasion, come and discover, free of charge, the cosy atmosphere of a 19th-century mansion house. Discover Jules Verne's world, his works and his influences piece by piece.

As a rare treat, there has been a cultural exchange between the Maison de Jules and the Musée de Picardie. You can admire works borrowed from the Musée de Picardie in a completely different setting.

Musée des Hortillonages - Hortillonage Museum, at Rivery

Almost a year after its opening, the Rivery Eco-Museum reveals itself in a new light for its first Museums Night. Dedicated to the Hortillons and the culture of this unique and preserved green space in Amiens, it traces the history of the floating gardens of Picardy. While concentrating on the pivotal period between 1850 and 1950, it emphasises the evolution of the cultivation techniques and tools that shaped the Hortillonnages over a century. Above all, the museum pays tribute to the generations of growers who have always cultivated these lands and participated in their development.
