By car:

Amiens, 1 hour 15 minutes from Paris by motorway, can be reached by:

  • the A16, that connects Amiens to the Greater Paris region and the ports on the North Sea, and opens the Picardy capital to Great Britain via the Channel Tunnel (since 1998).
  • • the A29, qui now connects Amiens with Normandy (Rouen and Le Havre) and the East of France (Reims).
  • • the A1, that connects Amiens to the Eastern Greater Paris region via the A29 trunk.

By train:

Amiens is 1 hour from Paris (more than 20 daily return trips).
The high-speed TGV train station of Haute Picardie is just 20 minutes away.

By plane:

Amiens is near the (110 km) international Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport. In addition, thanks to the A16 motorway, Amiens is close (50 km) to the international Beauvais-Tillé airport.

The airline Jet2.com will lanch a unique new route from Leeds-Bradford (UK) to Albert-Picardie (Somme-France) to enable english visitors to discover the Somme Battlefields and Amiens in Northern France. The company will operate a twice-weekly service to Albert on Mondays and Fridays between April and June 2009.

Service area at the “Parc des Cygnes” campsite
The “Parc des Cygnes” campsite is open from April to October and has a service area for camper vans where water and electricity are dispensed and facilities for discharging waste water are provided.
Tokens on sale at the site reception office at the price of €4.30.

Out of season, we recommend parking campers at the following parking areas:

  • Port d'Aval (on the banks of the Somme): free, from 8.00 pm to 9.00 am only
  • Port d'Amont (in the midst of the Saint-Leu district): parking charged for during the day, free from 7.00 pm to 9.00 am
