Amiens, the festive city

There’s plenty to do in the festive city of Amiens. The town beats to the rhythm of music, cinema and theatre festivals, some of which take place in the street. In the city centre, 700 shops attract fashion or interior design lovers. And the sportier population is spoilt for choice, too, with international competitions: ice hockey, football, handball, etc.
At the weekend, families are drawn by the hiking or mountain bike trails around Amiens. And in the summer, city dwellers can get away from it all to the poetic Baie de Somme in under an hour.

The city at night

The Saint-Leu district is lovely at night. The quai Bélu, famous for its restaurants and cafés, takes on a cosy atmosphere. An ideal setting for an enjoyable time into the early hours. On the same quay is the Lune des Pirates concert hall.

Vibrate to the rhythm of events

All year round, innumerable events make the capital of Picardy a festive and convivial place. Festivals, street parties, water markets and Christmas markets take place one after the other and set the pace of the city.

Amiens, the hungry city

Make way for sweet delights! Give in to local specialities.

The Amiens macaroon goes back to the 16th century. This sweet delight is made from Valencia almonds, honey and bitter almonds, with no preservatives or colorants.
